Workshop on Story based Knowledge Management

World Deaf Information Resource Project

The Gallaudet University Center for International Programs and Services (CIPS) has recently launched the World Deaf Information Resource Project, which is meant to disseminate contact information for deaf organizations around the world. Accessible Web Development (AWD)

AWD certificate Danishkadah offered FREE online course on Accessible Web Development (AWD) to promote Web Accessibility.

Ms. Melinda Cheah from Malaysia completed her AWD Course and certified by DANISHKADA! She developed Hope Special Children Centre's website as her study project. Read Melinda' comments.

Training: Democracy in DPOs

On Sunday 29, March 2009, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Danishkadah is organizing "Democracy in Disabled People Organizations (DPOs)" a capacity development activities for PWDs leaders from all DPOs. Objective of this activity is to improve the sustainability of DPOs, and to established a sustainable and well a trusted network of PWDs and/or DPOs.

World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) and Swedish National Association of the Deaf (SDR) are proud to released a comprehensive report on the situation of Deaf people. The "Deaf People and Human Rights" report is based on a survey that is, up until now, the largest knowledge database on the situation of Deaf people. The lives of Deaf people in 93 countries, most of which are developing countries, is addressed.

DEAF TRAINED ON TRAFFIC RULES

VietNamNet Bridge - A pilot training course on road traffic rules for the hearing impaired was opened in Hanoi on July 8 with 88 trainees. It is part of a project funded by the World Bank and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to educate deaf people on road traffic laws, understanding their rights and speaking out their needs for safe means of transport as well as to encourage them to travel with registered vehicles.

Court Says Dollar Design Discriminates Against Blind

All Things Considered, May 20, 2008: A U.S. Court of Appeals has ruled the Treasury Department is discriminating against the blind by printing money that is all the same size, with no tactile features that would make it possible to distinguish, say, a $10 bill from a $20. The decision could force the Treasury Department to redesign U.S. bills.
