About Us:
WDAD’S STRUCTURE:
WDAD structure is made up of two organs:
The General assembly: this organ is the supreme policy of making body that meets once every three years to elect the executive committee to amend the constitution, receive reports from the executive committee, approve plans. The general Assembly brings together all Deaf delegates from all sub– counties in the district.
The Executive committee: this organ makes decisions on behalf of the general Assembly, supervise the day to day activities of the Association.
WDAD’S Membership:
WDAD is a member of Uganda National Association of the Deaf (UNAD).
Wakiso District union of persons with Disabilities (WADUP), an umbrella organization of all PWD’s in Wakiso District.
WDAD also works hand in hand with the directorate of community Development – Wakiso district headquarters and the district council for disabilities.
WDAD’S ACHIVEMENTS:
- Mobilisation of the Deaf in all sub – counties in the District.
- Information of sub– county Associations.
- Training it own Deaf members to become sign language teachers
- Sign language training to interested people, parents,
